Choosing an experienced permanent makeup artist is crucial because the industry is largely unregulated. While you can obtain a certification in just two days, this doesn’t guarantee the skill or expertise needed for high-quality results. There’s a lot of misinformation and poor work in the field, which could leave you with disappointing outcomes and potentially lead to additional time and expenses for removal.

The powder brow may also go by a few other names, Ombré, nano-shaded, and shaded brow. They are all the same technique. This technique uses a battery or electrically powered pen. It is less traumatic to the skin than microblading. Depending on the look the client desires the powder brow can be lightly pixelated or tightly pixelated giving a bolder look. This is a very natural look that ages well and can last up to 2 years.

• No medical conditions, 
• Little to no use of anti-aging products/ treatments such as retinol AHA, they can affect retention and results.  
• Non-smokers (smoking fades pigment faster)
• Avoids sun exposure and makes a practice of using sunscreens as sun exposure and tanning fades pigment and causes it to discolor to an ashy tone.  
• Super oily skin usually has larger pores and may require a third session.  
• Certain medical conditions such as thyroid and some autoimmune conditions and those who may be low in iron may require a third session.  
• Not recommended for those on blood thinners, unless a doctor approves discontinuing for 3 days prior.  
• Those nursing or pregnant or those under the age of 18.  
• Accutane users must be off for 1 whole year prior.  
• Those using retin a, retinol, or retinoid products must be off for at least 1 month before service.  Your time may vary depending on how long you’ve been using these products. These products thin the skin and compromise making your skin unsuitable to withstand permanent makeup.

The powder brow is permanent makeup. When you are implanting pigment under the skin it is considered a tattoo.

Microblading uses a hand tool to make hair like strokes. 90% of people are not candidates for this technique as once the strokes are implanted under the skin the hair strokes will blur together. This process does not age well in that as the stroke is created a channel is also created in the skin and upon refresh will deepen, leaving behind scarring. For these reasons I do not recommend microblading or perform this technique.

This is a shorter appt but very important. Where we layer in pigment lost from the first appt.  The skin typically takes pigment much better at the second appt. I evaluate how they healed, how your skin took pigment and make any necessary changes.

There may be some discomfort in the first minute of the procedure. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest most clients would say it is a 3 similar to tweezing or waxing. Numbing is applied throughout for comfort. I have had clients fall asleep. Women should avoid scheduling appointments while on their menstrual cycle as the body is generally more sensitive around this time.
